Blogging?

Alright. . .I give up.  I went and got myself a blog.  Why did I do it?  I am still not completely sure.

Most of it has to do with the fact that there has been a thin sheet of ice and sleet keeping my wife and I inside our increasingly small house.  I fully expect to give up this exercise in futility once the sun comes out and I can once again go outside.

I have been looking around at some of my “friend’s” blogs and found they generally fit into two categories.  The first is the “Look at my kids do funny stuff/Children are such a blessing” type of the blog.  This genre of blog is generally written by those people who have just had a child, and are obsessed with the thought that their genetic material will most likely pass on through another generation.  I have also seen (though rarely) a disturbing perversion of this blog type.  Instead of pictures of bright smiling children taking their first steps, the blogger finds pictures of pets dressed like firemen or Sherlock Holmes.  This scares me a little bit because our dog, Deacon, looks pretty good in just about everything he puts on.

The second group of blogs consists mostly of those people who think thousands of people flock to their webpage to find out how they are supposed to think.  It is to this group I humbly wish to add my URL. (At least until Laura and I have kids or Deacon saves up enough to buy that cashmere sweater he has been eyeing.)
